$Bird On A Wire Sometimes I leave my office and see hundreds of birds clustered on these wires and I think of <i>Bird</i>, Hitchcock\'s famous movie. Rarely, I\'ll see just one lonely bird, sitting there as if he was left behind, or deliberately stayed behind, when all the other birds left$
$In Flight When one walks close to ducks, one tends to \"spook\" them, and they fly across the lake to escape the rabid photographer$
$Waiting You can\'t tell from this picture, but this bird was singing! \"Someday my fish will come...\"$
$In-Flight \"Good afternoon. We\'ll be cruising at an altitude of about three feet, and there is no in-flight movie today.\"$
$Wild Bunny One day three children set out from their house on a walk. They enjoyed walking in the evening, often turning ordinary streets and sidewalks into fantastic flights of fancy and adventures into the Great Unknown.On this particular evening, they narrowly escaped being ravaged by a wild bunny, who leapt out from behind a neighbors with a mighty chew and a ferocious twitch of its nose. Huddling together at first out of fear, the oldest child then stepped forward and shouted to the bunny, \"We do not fear you!\" That seemed to set the attacker back, but then it reared up onto its hind legs, pressing the attack. The younger two children shuddered and this and drew even more closely together, but the oldest recognized this as a desperate ploy from the rabbit. \"Begone!\" she shouted, and the wild bunny, recognizing defeat, turned and hopped back into the bushes from which it had come. It was only then that the oldest child let out a deep sigh of relief. For all the brave talk, she had not been entirely sure that the wild bunny wouldn\'t leap at her and tear her limb from limb. The three children continued on their walk, though they stayed very close together that evening.It was at almost an hour before the oldest child\'s hands stopped shaking, but she didn\'t let her younger siblings notice.$
$Staring Contest The gecko wanted out of the bowl, but I wanted pictures first. I\'d like to say he seemed to comprehend this and there was an understanding between us, but really, he just couldn\'t easily get out of the bowl until I tipped it over for him$
$Attacking A Potato Plant Wondering why the potato plant leaves have holes in them, I looked more closely and spotted these little critters. Later, I showed the picture to my wife.\"This is why the potato plant has holes in the leaves,\" I said. \"What did you do with them?\" she asked.\"The holes, or the leaves?\"\"The bugs!\" I think she thought I was kidding. I wasn\'t.\"Um, took their picture?\" I replied. It had not occurred to me that I should somehow <i>stop</i> them from chewing the leaves. Oops!$
